EMIR COMMENDS COUNCIL ON NATIONAL ISLAMIC VACATION COURSE IN ILORIN

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has commended the Council of Hosting Fathers, Elders, and Mentors of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) 79th (A-Zone) National Islamic Vacation Course level of preparation in the hosting of over 4000 delegates to this year IVC in the State.

The Emir made the commendation while receiving the Council and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) members of the event, which comprised all the 19 Northern states and Abuja at his Palace in Ilorin.

In a statement issued by the Chairman, 79th (A-Zone) National Islamic Vacation Course, LOC, Publicity Sub-Committee, Mallam Mustafa Abubakar, copy made available to journalists, stated that the Council was inaugurated by His Royal Highness to oversee the affairs of hosting a befitting programme, which is the first National Islamic Vacation Course to be held in the State.

The Emir also thanked and prayed for all those that have contributed to the successes recorded so far and urged all other Kwarans and Muslim philanthropists to support them, as it is a gateway to their eternal bliss and reward in the hereafter.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Council, Retired Grand Kadi of Kwara State Hon. Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon, CFR, said that members were in the Palace to brief the Emir on the assignment given to the Council and LOC on the successful hosting of the programme.

Justice Haroon also informed the Emir that arrangements have been concluded to provide accommodation and feeding for over four thousand MSS Members who would attend the program that would last for one week.

He explained that while Male participants would be accommodated at Federal Government College Ilorin, the Female participants would be accommodated at Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin where they will be having their tutorials during the week-long programme.

While commanding some dedicated and committed Muslim philanthropists in the State who have donated to the hosting, he thanked the Emir for signing the letters requesting support from Eminent Muslim leaders in the State who have contributed their resources to host the participants.

He prayed for long life and sound health for the Emir so that he could witness many of these in his lifetime.

In his comment, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Prof. Badmas Lanre Yusuf disclosed that the Islamic Vacation Course will begin in Ilorin on the 22nd and end on the 28th of this month while the Formal Opening Ceremony of the IVC will be performed by the Sultan of Sokoto on Saturday, 24th December, 2022 at the Kwara State Stadium Complex Ilorin.

in his words of appreciation, the Secretary to the Council of Hosting Fathers, Elders, and Mentors of the NIVC, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, assured the Emir that the Security Agencies are working in concert with the Council to provide maximum security throughout the training.

Islamic Vacation Course is an annual programme for Muslim students on skill acquisition, and sound spiritual and moral education to be good future leaders.
