Emir of Okuta appeals KWSG to reconstruct Ilesha to Chikanda road

The Emir of Okuta, Alhaji Idris Sero Abubakar has appealed to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to reconstruct the road that links Ilesha down to chikanda.

Dr. Abubakar who doubles as the Chairman Baruten Emirate council made the appeal yesterday at the 19th Gaani festival and turbaning of new title holders in Okuta, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Emir of Okuta pleaded with the Governor to urgently consider the rehabilitation of the moribund water project and provide at least one science and ICT laboratory in secondary schools at each of the four districts.

He also solicited the assistance of the Governor in the area of electricity and the need the to connect the town to the national grid in order to boost the economy prosperity of the local government.

The Emir used the occasion to call for the declaration of Baruten as educationally disadvantaged area, while seeking for provision of scholarship to the few indigenes of the town studying medicine and engineering.

He applauded the Governor for his performance in office.

Among the new title holders turbaned was the media aide to Emir of Ilorin, Abdulazeez Arowona who was installed as the Shettiman of Okuta.

Idayat Hassan reported that the dignitaries present at the event include governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Umaru Shehu Muhazu amongst others.
