A Socio-Cultural group known as the Igbomina Ekiti Youth Stakeholders has called on the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba to establish special Anti-Kidnapping Squad Base at the border of Kogi, Ekiti and Kwara State.

In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Organisation Comrade Abdulrasaq Ahmed, the group said the demand became inevitable because of the incessant kidnapping of the community dwellers and travellers in the axis.

The Organisation said the incidents has almost paralyzed the farming activities in the area.

“We are using this medium to call on the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to come to our aid by establishing a special base “Anti-kidnapping” in our border communities here. The activities of kidnappers is fast destroying our economy, it has almost paralyzed farming activities in our communities and people are afraid to go and do their day to day activities”

They also appeal to the Kwara State Governor Mall. Abdulrazaq Abdulraman to give attention to the issue which they said has been ravaging the area for over two years now.

“We are concerned that this issue of Kidnapping has been ravaging areas like Obbo Aiyegunle, Obbo Ile, Isapa axis as well as Ekan-Meje axis for over two years now. We want to also appeal to the Kwara State Governor Mall. Abdulrazaq Abdulraman to give this issue the attention it deserves”, the group said.
