Kwara State monthly sanitation exercise holds Saturday

The monthly sanitation exercise for the month of October will hold on Saturday 30th, 2021 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

According to a press statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry for Environment, Okanlawon Taiwo, the public are enjoined to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their residential and business environments.

The statement stated further that everybody is expected to stay at home to clean up their surroundings.

“The monitoring agencies will be on ground to monitor compliance and it will be strictly observed across all the 16 Local Government Areas in the State”.

According to the release, “there will be no vehicular and human movement except those on essential services.

“Violators of Environmental Laws during the sanitation exercise would be tried and sanctioned by Mobile Courts stationed at designated points across the State.

“Waste management trucks will be on the street for waste collection and disposal to the the final dumpsite during the exercise in the Ilorin metropolis”, the statement added.
