KWHA 2023: AGF Salahuddeen submits APC nomination form for re-election

The member representing Omupo Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Abdulganiyu Folami Salahuddeen (AGF), has submitted the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for his re-election under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon. Salahuddeen submitted the form in company of his political associates and supporters, at the State Party Secretariat, GRA, Ilorin on Tuesday.

Addressing Journalists after the submission of the form, Hon. Salahuddeen pledged to attract more dividends of democracy to the people of Omupo Constituency if re-elected for a second term.

He said that he is optimistic of winning his re-election because of his performance in office in the past three years.

“I want to thank the leadership of APC in Kwara State and members for their continuous support towards my re-election into the state House of Assembly”, he said.

The legislator, who commended Kwarans for standing by the Administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the last three years, called on the Constituents and other Kwarans to continue to pray and support APC at levels beyond 2023 in the country.

“I am seeking a re-election to further improve wellbeing of the people of my area. I have succeeded in giving access to people to contribute to development of the constituency and supported infrastructure, education, agric and health development of my Constituency in the last three years.

“In terms of education, I undertook construction of one block of two classrooms and two offices, obtained JAMB forms for university admission seekers, and paid for their tuition upon gaining admission. We also dug boreholes in wards in my constituency. Our constituency is majorly agrarian. In terms of agriculture, I attended to our farmers by giving them lands to cultivate, chemicals and sprayers to encourage food sufficiency”.

The lawmaker, who said that the next general elections in the state would be defined by performance and achievements of each political office holder, added that there was a difference between the officers in the past political dispensation and the current crop of office holders in the state.

“The present state government had been able to surpass its predecessors in terms of development”, he added.

Speaking further, Hon. Salahuddeen declared that the APC remains the party to beat in the State in the 2023 general elections.

He dismissed as empty the threats by the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties to take over the State, saying they do not have the political will to do what APC is currently doing in the state.

He said with the numerous developmental project embarked upon by the APC led administration in the State, nobody that the opposition parties put forward that the APC will not defeat at the poll.

Meanwhile, the people of the Constituency said that the lawmaker had surpassed his predecessors with his level achievements in a period of three years in office.

Speaking on behalf of the women, Hon. Mrs. Mary Ebun Oyeleye, said that legislative performance of Hon. Salahuddeen had rubbed off on constituents of the area, adding that the lawmaker had improved socioeconomic wellbeing of the people of the area.

“All the women, including the men in the two constituencies of Ifelodun are enjoying dividends of democracy through his legislative position. He’s been good to everyone, honest and loyal to the party. He’s sunk both hand pump and motorized boreholes in almost every ward of the state constituency, organized empowerment programmes for women, aged and youths in the area, and rehabilitated some rural roads.

“Where there are uncompleted soak away, he helped to complete soak away for many residential homes. We appreciate him so much”.

In his remarks, the Director General of Team AGF, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, who acknowledged the acceptance of Hon. AGF Salahuddeen re-election in the 2023 coming election, stated that the Honourable has done excellently well for his people, hence he deserves to return to the state House of Assembly.

While thanking the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and all the stakeholders of the party in the Constituency, the DG urged those fighting for the seat to put aside their differences and allow Hon. AGF. to return to the house in order to finish the already good works he is doing on behalf of the governor for the people of his Constituency.

Present at the epoch event were all the 8 wards Chairman, Vice-chairman, Women and Youth Leaders, stakeholders and the ward Secretaries, including AGF Supporters across the 8 wards of the Constituency.
