NUJ NOA CHAPEL BEGINS PRESS WEEK

The Annual Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NOA Chapel Kwara State Council will hold between Monday 25th and Friday, 29th July, 2022.

The theme of the Press Week is “BUILDING CAPACITY FOR EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION IN ELECTORAL PROCESS AND NATION BUILDING”.

On Monday 25th, the Chairman of the Chapel, Mr Ajibade Adegbayibi as well as the Vice Chairman, Mr Segun Adeyemi will both feature on Sobi FM by 1pm where De Radio General, Mr Dare Akogun will be the host on a programme to sensitize members of the public about the Press week as well as” Danger of Election Apathy”.

On Tuesday 26th, there will be a Press Conference at the State Headquarters office of NOA.

On Wednesday, 27th there will be Games in the morning to be declared opened by the NUJ Kwara Chairman, Comrade Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed. Sporting activities with Sister’s Chapel which includes; Tennis, Ayo, Scrabble are slated for 11am to 1pm. In the evening, there would be a friendly football match between NOA Chapel and Sobi FM Chapel where the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, Mr Kayode Alabi will do the ceremonial kickoff by 3.00 pm at Royal Palm Secondary School Kunlende Akerebiata Road ilorin.

On Day 4 Thursday 28th July, there will be a Panel of discussion, Induction into Hall of Fame and Public Presentation of 9th Edition of NOA Mobilizer and the lead Discussant is Professor Noah Yusuf, Vice Chancellor Alhikmah University on the topic “Stimulating Citizens’ Robust Participation in Peace Process for Nation Building: Challenges, Prospects and Strategies.

Other discussants are Professor Azeez of Mass Communication Department, University of Ilorin speaking on “2023 General Elections: Safety and Security as Priority for Nigerian Journalists and Comrade Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, Chairman of NUJ Kwara State Council will address “Journalists on Ethics of election reportage. Venue of the event is E- Phoenix Hotel.

While on Friday 29th, the Press week will come to an end with visits to Orphanage and prayer Session for Nigeria.
