There was tension at Ireti Ayo community along Ijebu-Jesa road in Osun State when the corpse of a couple was found in their apartment.
It was gathered that the incident which occurred on Independence Day (October 1st) when one of the residents of the area discovered that the couple was laying on the floor.
The neighbours forced their way into the apartment and discovered that the couple is dead.
“We suspected that they die of poison because their corpses were found around their dining table,” resident who craved anonymity told Newsmen.
Confirming the incident, the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalolo said: “55-year-old Mr Olasunkanmi Eso and 50-year-old Mrs. Fisayo Eso were found dead on the floor of their dining room.
“We are waiting for the autopsy report from the hospital to ascertain the actual cause of their death,” the PPRO said.
