Omotayo Ayanda is a seasoned journalist, media executive, and public communication specialist with over two decades of professional experience spanning journalism, government communications, and digital media leadership. He currently serves as the Press Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Kwara State, where he leads strategic communication, public engagement, and media relations for the Ministry.

He brings to this role a rich background in both traditional and digital journalism, having worked with the Kwara State Ministry of Communications, where he contributed to government information management, public messaging, and institutional communication strategies. His experience in the public sector is strengthened by his earlier career in print journalism with the Herald Newspapers, where he developed strong skills in reporting, editorial writing, and news analysis.

Alongside his public service, Omotayo is the Managing Editor of Daily Links Digital Media, a fast-growing news and digital communications platform focused on credible journalism, civic reporting, and community-centered storytelling. Under his leadership, Daily Links has evolved into a multi-platform media organization covering governance, education, development, human rights, environmental, and social issues affecting communities across Nigeria.

Omotayo is widely recognized for his expertise in investigative journalism, digital communications, and data-informed storytelling. His professional approach combines newsroom discipline with strategic communication insight, enabling him to translate complex policy issues into clear, accessible public information. Omotayo was elected as the Secretary of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on 4th July, 2018. He was re-elected on 10th of July, 2021..

He is a sports’ lover, sociable and approachable. He has great love for the game of Chess and has won laurels in the game.
