It was a colorful and joyous moment at the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Headquarters in Ilorin on Tuesday as officers of the military and paramilitary agencies gathered to honor Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC) Abigael Oredunni Ogunbiyi, the outgoing Sports Coordinator of the Kwara State Command, who is set to retire tomorrow, October 8, 2025.
The event, which featured a joint jog by military and paramilitary joggers, was chaired by the State Controller of Corrections, Tolorunshagba Femi Emmanuel.
In his remarks, the Controller praised Ogunbiyi for her dedication, commitment, and outstanding contributions to sports development within the Command, particularly in securing medals and trophies for the Service over the years.


He urged other officers to emulate her exemplary record of service, describing her as a role model who combined discipline with passion to uplift sporting activities in the NCoS.
In farewell messages delivered by representatives of sister security agencies, the celebrant was lauded for her selfless service and collaborative spirit.
They prayed for her continued good health and a fulfilling post-retirement life.
Responding, ACC Ogunbiyi expressed deep gratitude to the Command and partner agencies for the celebration in her honor.


She thanked her colleagues and subordinates for their support during her years of service, while praying for stronger ties and sustained collaboration between the NCoS and other security agencies in Kwara State.
According to the command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Adegbulugbe Philip O. (anipr), the sendforth was organized by the Sports Unit of the Correctional Service under the leadership of ASC Bankole Olaoluwa Stephen, who commended participants for making the programme a success.
