The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kwara State Chapter, has elected its 6-member executive team which will serve as its leadership structure headed by Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Danladi as Chairman.
It would be recalled that the election of the Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Danladi, who is equally the Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Council had weeks earlier been concluded, officers of the remaining positions were elected Sunday, January 26, 2025.
The election of the new Leadership were conducted under peaceful and rancour free atmosphere with the Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Councils in attendance.
The officers elected are Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government, who emerged as Vice Chairman; Hon. Jolayemi Lanre Benjamin, Chairman of Isin Local Government, as Secretary; Hon. Sheu AbdulRahaman Ladan, Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, as Treasurer; Hon. Abdullahi Bello, Chairman of Edu Local Government, elected Financial Secretary; while Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, made the Public Relations Officer.
In a statement by the newly elected Public Relations Officer, Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, the ALGON Chairman was said to have described the election as “smooth, balanced and transparent.”
The ALGON Chairman, Hon. Danladi, congratulated his executive team members, even as he enjoined them to be prepared to serve the people diligently with all sense of responsibility and patriotism.
He appealed for the cooperation of top government officials as he called for strong synergy among the association’s members so as to foster a unified front towards ensuring the success of the current administration.
