Contrary to expectations, a former Kwara North Senatorial aspirant under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Aisha Ahman Pategi has endorsed the re-election bid of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for a second term in office.

The former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs who served in Governor Abdulrazaq’s cabinet from 2019 to August, 2020 resigned following a purported official dispute.

In her recent comment on Kwara Commission, a popular social media group among Kwarans, “Aisha Pategi joined forces with the progressives calling for the re-election of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in the March 11th Governorship and State House of Assembly polls”.

According to her, “Absolutely, I work for the progressive in the past election. I will do same come Saturday inshaAllah #AAP for #GAA 4+4.”

She reiterated that as a progressive her decision was borne of respect for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) and her discussions with relevant stakeholders ‘No other side… It’s all about the people of Kwara, especially Kwara North and Patigi. FYI: Asiwaju has been a long time mentor and father to me.”

Aisha Ahman Pategi added that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s commitment to Kwara North 2027 agenda earns him a place as the best candidate for second term in office to consolidate his achievements across all sectors.

The Kwara North Senatorial aspirant in the just concluded People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primary, Hon. Aisha Ahman-Pategi on Tuesday appreciated her supporters for their resilience, love and support given to her during the contest.

Hon. Ahman Patigi had contested the Kwara North seat at the Red chamber against Hon Adamu Bawa Issa at the Senatorial party primaries held at Shao, Moro Local Government, yesterday (Monday 23 May, 2022).

While expressing disappointment over the bullying, intimidation and threatening of delegates perceived to be her supporters, she urged the delegates and all aggrieved parties to continue to maintain calm and conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.

She added that all the identified irregularities that characterised the exercise shall be challenged and adequately addressed at the appeal.

She emphasized that the internal mechanisms of the party shall be adopted to resolve the anomalies,hence no cause for alarm.

The former commissioner also thanked the party for providing her the opportunity to contest and clamour for women inclusiveness at all levels of governance.
Hon Aisha promised to rededicate herself to the service of the party and humanity at large.

In her words, “the exercise though peaceful was not without irregularities which contravenes the tenets of free, fair and transparent election. Let’s keep our hope alive while we await the outcome of the appeal panel.

“Thanks for your love, support and sacrifices, I’m proud of you all” She concluded.
