The Publisher of Kwara People Magazine and a leading Ilorin West Local Government Chairmanship Aspirant in the ongoing electioneering process, Hon. Abdul-Hameed Oladipupo Alli (Mr Nigeria), has commended the initiative of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahm AbdulRazaq, and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State under the leadership of Prince Sunday Fagbemi, especially the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Sanmanri, and all Committee Members for organising a transparent, free, and fair screening exercise in the just concluded screening of local government chairmanship aspirants across the 16 LG Areas in Kwara State.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the completion of his screening, Mr Nigeria, who was beaming with smiles, said he was optimistic that only the best candidates will emerge at the end of the screening exercise, considering the measures put in place.
He said that it is the first time in the history of Kwara State that an Electoral Committee will be constituted and a screening exercise conducted simultaneously under one roof during a local government electioneering process.
Mr Nigeria said further that, given the calibre and personalities of people in the Screening Committee, it shows that the Governor is committed to setting a new and decent template for the local government electioneering process which other states could emulate.
When asked what his experience was like before the screening panels, he promised to share a little of it as soon as the ongoing exercise is concluded, promising that full details of his experience will be captured in a memoir, titled LIKE AA LIKE MR NIGERIA, which is already being put together.
While assuring that he was adequately prepared for the job of council chairmanship and thanked God for His grace over him, he prayed to Allah who started the journey for him to complete it.
Meanwhile, the journalist-turned-grassroots politician, Mr. Nigeria expressed his sincere apologies to the Special Adviser and Counsellor to the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, the Non-Executive Director of NNPC PLC, Dr Ghali Alaaya, the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdullahi Bata, the Permanent Secretary and Directors, as well as all DPMs/Treasurers from the 16 Local Government Councils who were present at the launch of a special edition of his Kwara People Magazine to unveil Governor AbdulRazaq’s achievements through the dissolved TIC Chairmen last Tuesday, but which could not hold due to his participation in the ongoing APC screening exercise.
Mr Nigeria also extended his apologies to a former Grand Khadi, Hon. Justice S.O. Mohammed, and the Kwara State Muslims Council, who were ably represented, as well as the many journalists in attendance.
He, however, used the opportunity to announce that the event has been rescheduled to be held tomorrow, Friday, 28th June 2024, at the same venue, NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin, at 10 am.
