The Managing Director of the Lower Niger River Basin Authority, Dr. Adeniyi Aremu has been described as innovative, hardworking and fair in attitude towards staff.
The Legal Director of LNRBA, Barr. Sodiq Onimisi stated this in Ilorin during his opening address at the Send forth Programme in honour of Dr Adeniyi Aremu.
He observed that the occasion is in celebration of the outgoing Managing Director of the Authority, organised by the Management.
Onimisi who expressed mixed feelings about the exit of Aremu from the Authority, observed that the programme is also a celebration of landmark achievement of the MD.
According to him, the eight years spent by Aremu has been impactful with landmark achievement for both staffs and the Authority.
“We have progressed and advanced under the leadership of Aremu, and we are better off than we were,” he said.
The legal director of the Authority enumerated the lists of projects including transformations in headquarters complex, estate, schools, stores and engineering buildings.
He listed others to include paved roads construction, creation of Omu-Aran area office signifying the Authority’s presence in all senatorial districts and acquisition of more expanse of lands for irrigation activities both in Kwara and Kogi State.
Also in his speech, Alhaji Muftau Morounfoye, the Director Agric Services of the Authority also described Aremu as very respectful to all his staff, humble and dogged in his leadership.
He advised the outgoing MD to continue to exhibit good qualities that made him exemplary where ever he finds himself in life.
Im his reaction, Dr Adeniyi Aremu, the Outgoing Managing Director of LNRBA expressed joy at the staff for the send forth celebration organised on his behalf.
He pointed out that all what is achieved in the Authority is as a result of hard work and cooperation from staff.
“We started with development of infrastructure, the building, the capacity of staff to skill their knowledge on various aspects of the demand of the Authority.
“Today, we thank God Almighty we’ve achieved all the mandate and what is required of the Authority in terms of water foe multipurpose use,” he said.
“Today is historic in the sense that we started in 2017 with Memorandum of Understanding to release 4000 hectares and this is in line with the objectives of the President.
“This is in area of employment generation, job creation and economic development,” he said.
Aremu also added that over five dams have been commissioned in Kwara and Kogi State, while over 1500 boreholes, 16 water treatment plants and two Shonga Model Farms were also commissioned.
Similarly, an Outgoing director, Mr. Rasheed Oyedeji, Executive Director Planning, Investigation and Design described Aremu as principled administrator who tasks the best from everyone.
Also another Outgoing director, Dr Moses Babatunde, the Executive Director, Engineering Services said his working relationship with the MD and staff was very cordial.
He advised the staff to continue to work hard for the Authority in order to develop the nation.
