The All Progressive Congress, APC government has outrightly failed Nigerians on all it’s campaign promises, especially the three basic issues that the party used to ride to power, namely corruption, insecurity and of course the economy, the Director General, Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council in kwara State, Dr. Mahmud Babatunde Ajeigbe has declared.
He said the government has grossly displayed lack of capacity to address the numerous challenges facing the country, by allowing eight years of failed infrastructure, heightened insecurity, increased corruption and failed promises, thereby creating hopelessness in the nation.
He observed that Nigerians were fed up with failed promises, maladministration and the people are getting ready to reject APC rulership at all levels of governance via electoral polls in the forthcoming general election in Nigeria.
Speaking with Journalists in Ilorin, yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief presidential campaigner said, “as we speak, APC administration is a government that is already outgoing because the ruling party has not been able to deliver good governance, it has rather bring untold hardship to the people as a result of incompetency.”
The PDP stalwart who expressed confidence in the ability of the current major opposition party to efficiently and effectively address the various challenges bedeviling the country when it get back to power , said PDP remains the best option that can drive Nigeria to greatness, considering it’s past achievements while in power, between 1999 and 2015.
He said, aside the preparedness and readiness of his party to dislodge the APC government, the PDP presidential candidate, former vice president Atiku Abubakar is blessed with the required experience, wisdom and capacity that can efficiently address challenges that the nation is confronted with under the watch of APC.
The front line PDP campaigner told Journalists that the people are quite tired of the APC’s unproductive government and want a good replacement, saying, “how, the issue that Nigerians are trying to address, is what is the alternative platform to the ruling party and you would readily observed that the alternative party is no other, but PDP. Perhaps, no other party in the country has the wide spread like the PDP.
“Aside that, you would recall that between 1999 and 2015 when PDP ruled Nigeria, the PDP government had the best projected goal for the country. Though, few mistakes were made that made it lost power in 2015.
“However, from all indications, PDP has been redesigned and repositioned to address the future that Nigerians need. Also remember that we had the least rancorous primaries among other major political parties in the country and our candidates are well positioned.
“I assure you that the best set of people that can be able to return this country back to the path of sustainable economy, improved security and reduced corruption, is the candidates of PDP. Our party is the only one that understands the politics. It has been tested, it has been in power before and it knows all correction that is necessary.”
Talking about the capacity of the PDP presidential candidate to provide quality leadership and governance when elected, the PDP campaign DG, said Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the most prepared, experienced and tested, among other presidential candidates in the forthcoming general election.
He emphasized, “You also see that among the presidential gladiators, the most preferred flag bearer is the candidate of PDP, apart from the fact that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Turakin Adamawa has been tested as Nigeria’s vice president for eight years.
“He has consistently been able to articulate his vision. Obviously, he is the foundation of the success of 15 years of PDP government, premised on his eight years vice presidency. His vision and mission has been articulated and it is very clear and the people knows and have seen this.
“Our presidential candidate has been in the political space for a while now, he is the most experienced. He has the understanding of the political dynamics of this nation. He is a detribalized Nigerian, he promotes federalism for the good of all.
“PDP is the only party that can be able to address the nation’s challenges. It is the party that can offer you the tomorrow that you desired. Because right now Nigeria is on the slide and PDP is on rescue mission to revive and redeem the nation for the sake of citizens’ welfare and national development.”
Ajeigbe lamented the high cost of living inflicted by the APC government, citing the instance of high cost of food items, especially as its affect rice, “the simplest example you asked yourself, if you could buy a bag of rice between #8,000 and #9,000 in 2015 and today you are buying the same bag of rice at #47,000 despite all policies put in place by the APC government. The banning of rice importation and promotion of local production never yielded any good result.
He speaks further, “similarly, one of the things APC promised, was the removal of fuel subsidy and eight years down the line, where is the fuel subsidy removal? You see, it is one thing to get to power, it is another thing to drive governance. So, APC only got to power without cognate experience. It is unfortunate that the situation is from ‘frypan to fire’ that happened to the ruling party.”
Ajeigbe who is a former Commissioner for Information in Kwara State said, to ensure perfect correction of the various ills brought about by APC, the best option and solution to the challenges, is for the electorate to vote PDP at all levels.
“His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the best option for Nigeria. He is on a rescue mission, to rescue Nigeria. I assure Nigerians that he will deliver on all his campaign promises. What he wants to live Is a good legacy, what he wants to live is a Nigeria that is better, not only for us, but for our children and generations to come,” he assured the electorate.
The Director General urged Nigerians to believe in the capacity of PDP to return and improve the glory of the country, promising that the party is determined to address the various abnormalities slowing the growth of the nation if given the opportunity and elected to power.
“We must understand the fact that we have had serious decadence and failure in many facet of our economy, security architecture and all these has lead to youth indulgence in worsened crimes and illicit drugs.
“These must stop, all these must be corrected. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is on a rescue mission, let’s join hands with him, let’s support PDP to rescue back our dear country. Give us another chance, we have done it before, we can do it better. Though, we made few mistakes in the past and we acknowledged this.
“We now have better restructuring and repositioning strategies, we have better people based on experience and willingness. I am assuring you that giving another opportunity to PDP, is a runway to prosperity of the nation, we will together rescue Nigeria and Nigerians will be happy,” he declared confidence and commitment.
