Birthday: Onagun felicitates Gov AbdulRazaq, applauds his selfless service to humanity

As the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq celebrate his 63rd birthday anniversary, the Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters to the governor, Comrade Abdulkareem Mumini Onagun has felicitated with him, praising his selfless service to humanity.

Onagun who expressed gratitude to God for blessing Mallam AbdulRazaq with a valuable life which is worthy of emulation, observed that his meritorious service to Kwara State and humanity is unprecedented.

In his message made available to newsmen yesterday in Ilorin, the Senior Special Assistant described Mallam AbdulRazaq as a selfless governor whose leadership philosophy was impacting the state positively, especially at ensuring meaningful development and wellbeing of the people generally.

He particularly applauded the commitment and dedication of the governor towards sufficient welfare of workers in the state, adding that his love and passion for the members of the Organized Labour Movement is second to none in the history of the state.

Onagun noted that Mallam AbdulRazaq has never taken the yearnings of workers with levity, as he often attend to issues affecting members of the state workforce with utmost priority and dispatch.

In the light of his commitment at ensuring comfort and happiness of his fellow human beings, Comrade Onagun prayed God to bless the governor with longer life, sound health, wisdom, prosperity and grant him the opportunity to serve more.

The governor’s aide besieged God in prayers for the governor, ” May the Almighty God continue to protect you (Mallam AbdulRazaq) against all evil machination of detractors and enemies of progress.

” May Allah not allow all you valued be lost; may He grant your heart desires and fulfilment of your ambition to return as the state governor for a second term Insha Allah.

” Happy birthday to you, our distinguished leader and patriot of inestimable value. I wish you many happy returns, as you continue in the service of overall transformation and development of your darling Kwara State.

Why Gov AbdulRazaq committed to workers’ welfare, prompt salary payment – SSA Labour

Realizing the importance of prompt and regular salary payment to workers, the kwara State governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had since prioritized the wellbeing of civil servants in the state through consistency in release of salary and other welfare packages.

The Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters to the governor, Comrade Abdulkareem Mumini Onagun said Governor has not renege his commitment at ensuring comfort for workers and the people were appreciative of the good gesture.

Onagun made the disclosure while addressing participants at ‘ SYMBOL OF CHANGE MEDIA ROUNDTABLE’, held in Ilorin, recently.

He said, the governor who is passionately interested in the comfort and good living of workers and the entire people of the state, saw the reason and need not to deprive workers of their legitimate earnings.

” The lives of the people matters to the governor. He wants the people to be comfortable and happy. He has been going against all odds to better the lives of Kwarans and residents of the state. He is workers’ friendly governor and he truly loves the people of the state”, he stated with good sense of confirmation.

He chides mischievous politicians who were trying to mislead the public that salary payment is ought not to be mentioned as part of government achievements.

Onagun observed that the said set of politicians were only trying to cover up their past maltreatment of workers in the state, saying that a responsible government should know that salary payment is most important to lives of workers.

He noted, ” any government that prioritizes payment of salary to workers as at when due, deserved commendation and worthy to be confirmed as friend of the people.

” In the other hand, any government that pays leap service or does not take the payment of salary to workers on regular basis, is not fit to govern and such people should be outrightly rejected.

” The people who thinks that the welfare of workers doesn’t matter, must not be allowed to govern the state again. Because kwara people deserved better life”.

The governor’s aide said, in a state like kwara and many other states in Nigeria, regular and prompt payment of salary serves as energiser to economic growth, as its enhances market activities and business transactions across board.

The one time labour leader turned politician, Comrade Onagun assured workers of renewed government commitment at further ensuring their welfare.

He passionately appeal to the entire workforce in the state to ensure the re – election of the governor by massively voting for Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during the forthcoming general election.

2023: Gov AbdulRazaq will not lay off workers, reverse minimum wage, Onagun assures Kwara workers

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has emphasized that he did not intended to neither downsize the state workforce nor reverse the payment of the newly implemented minimum wage if re-elected.

The Senior Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Abdulkareem Mumini Onagun who dropped the hint when he featured on a Media Town Hall interview session, spoke about welfare package of the AbdulRazaq-led government towards the entire state workforce.

The Governor’s aide enumerated achievements of the present government ranging from prompt payment of salaries, approval and implementation of promotion arrears, training and retraining of workers among others.

Comrade Onagun further explained that the workers deserved encouraging welfare and benefits as the engine room of government and given their unprecedented support and commitment to the core mandates of the state government.

He said the gestures were to further motivate the state’s workforce and enhance its services to the people.

He reiterated the determination of the present administration to improve the welfare of the civil servants and cushion the effects of the present economic hardship.

Onagun, therefore, urged the civil servants to reciprocate the kind gesture of the government by rededicating themselves for efficient service delivery.

On the issue of Kwara Hotel staff, the Governor’s aide told newsmen that effort is ongoing to absorb them into the mainstream of the civil service without any condition.

He explained that the present government under Governor AbdulRazaq’s watch was working round the clock to lay the issue of staff to rest and ensure that hotel return to its hospitality business as soon as possible.

Comrade Onagun also informed that the government had left no sector of the economy untouch, disclosing that the Governor had increased the monthly allocation meant for gratuity from N30m to N100m to carter for more people.

He appreciated Labour leadership in Kwara State for their understanding and ensuring mutual understanding between the government and the entire workforce.

He also appealed to Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to consider upward review of the allocation due to Kwara State to enable government do more for the people.

Comrade Onagun, therefore, advised the public particularly civil servants to steer clear anything that distrupt peaceful coexistence in the state as the election draws nearer, saying that election should not be do or die affairs.
