Prof. Yusuf Olaolu-Ali SAN, on Friday donated medical equipment to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) Trauma Centre built by his foundation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that The Trauma Center in UITH was built by Ali in 2012 to cater for the treatment of severe accident and fire victims.
NAN reports some of the equipment donated includes multi Parameter Monitors, BP Chords, Monitor Lids, Infusion Pumps, Syringe Pumps and Oxygen Gauges among others.
Speaking at the handing over of the equipment, Prof. Abdullahi Dasilva, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the UITH commended the philanthropist for the humanitarian gesture.
He observed that the new equipment will go a long way in assisting the healthcare workers in caring for patients.
“We will continue to maintain the equipment for optimal use. Since the donation of the trauma center 13 years ago, the hospital has maintained the facilities there,” he said.
Dasilva appealed to well meaning Nigerians to support the government in its efforts towards providing good health for the citizens.
The CMD also pledged that the tertiary hospital will make judicious use of the equipment.

Speaking earlier, the donor of the equipment, Prof Olaolu Ali SAN, expressed delight that the trauma centre is well maintained, adding that despite the maintaince, some of the equipment had to be renewed due to wear and tear.
The philanthropist explained that the donation is part of his efforts in supporting the government activities in ensuring optimal health for citizens.
Ali pointed out that according to the Islamic faith, it is the help and assistance that you render to humanity that will count during the hereafter
He therefore enjoined other Nigerians to reach out and help the less privileged and indigent in the society.
