1st Lady’s Visit: ALGON Commends Gov Abdulrazaq For Honour Accorded Tinubu

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kwara State Chapter has appraised the visit of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu to Kwara State, which informed their commendation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for according the First Lady the honour she deserves.

The body appreciated the First Lady for her love for the State of Harmony as she supported the initiative of putting Kwara youth to productive enterprise and encouraging women development initiative in the State.

ALGON is excited that the First Lady didn’t just commissioned the State Government’s signature projects but donated N350m to support Sugar Film Factory for productions in relation to tradition and culture even as she visited the Garment Factory to encourage local production of fabrics.

ALGON, which comprises of Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Councils in Kwara State, is excited because the First Lady’s visit had showcased the state to the world as a preferred investment destination.

In a statement signed by ALGON Public Relations Officer, AbdulRasheed Femi Yusuf, the association’s under the Chairmanship of Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi remain steadfast in support of people-oriented development initiative of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara State.

ALGON Chairman said: “we are indeed happy because aside the good image the First Lady’s visit brought to the state, it has shown that our Dear Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is performing excellently, making Kwara a preferred place for investor. 

“We are equally happy because the Free-to-Shine Campaign, an initiative of the Organization of African First Ladies (OAFLAD) was launched during the visit which is meant to mobilize support to end new HIV infections and protect children and women.”

“We at ALGON are commending the Governor for his transformative agenda” he added, drawing attention to the Innovation Hub which is already attracting partnership from tech giants, IHS Towers and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu during her three-day visit to Kwara, commissioned two fly-over bridges, launched an ICT Centre executed by the NITDA in collaboration with her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) inside Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin and did ground breaking for the construction of Oluremi Tinubu Hospital, a multi-storey secondary healthcare facility, off Ahmadu Bello Avenue, among others.

The First Lady also had a tour of the Sugar Factory Film Studio, Kwara Innovation Hub and the Garment Factory, another signature project of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the biggest of its kind in the country.
