The Kwara State Education Trust Fund (KwaraETF) continues to strengthen its national and global footprint in education transformation. The Fund’s Executive Secretary, Oluwadamilola Fatima Amolegbe, featured as a panelist at the World Bank’s Entertaining Change: Next-Generation Media Partnerships for Social Impact and Gender Equality Forum, held in Abuja, Nigeria.
Speaking on the high-level session “Policy, Partnerships & Advocacy,” Amolegbe reflected on how Kwara State is building sustainable systems to ensure education reforms outlast individual projects and administrations.
She recalled the journey from the Kwara Education Futures Summit — a high-level convening of education stakeholders keynoted by Dr. Tunde Adekola, then Senior Education Specialist, Africa Region – World Bank — shortly after His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq declared a state of emergency on education in Kwara State.
The Summit communique laid the foundation for landmark reforms, including:
KwaraAGILE — a World-Bank-supported programme advancing adolescent girls’ learning in secondary schools.
KwaraETF — institutionalising transparent and sustainable education financing.
KwaraLEARN — digitising foundational learning across public primary schools.
The Abuja programme is part of a global knowledge series hosted by the World Bank Development Impact Group (DECDI) and supported by IFC, EU Delegation to Nigeria, Eden Venture Group, Women In Film (WIF), and the Gates Foundation — advancing gender-responsive education through evidence, technology, and creativity.
KwaraETF’s participation reinforces its role as a national model of public–private collaboration, education financing reform, and policy-driven innovation.
