Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has announced the grand finale of the 4th Al-Hikmah Inter-University Qur’an Memorization Competition, alongside the conferment of the Merit Award of Distinguished Servant of the Qur’an.
The Director of the Centre for Islamic Heritage, Al-Hikmah University, Dr. Nafiu Ahmad Arikewuyo, made this known in a statement issued in Ilorin.
According to him, the grand finale will hold on Monday, January 26, 2026, corresponding with 7th Sha’ban 1447 AH, at the Al-Hikmah University Auditorium.
Dr. Arikewuyo disclosed that activities for the grand finale would commence at 10:00 a.m., while invited guests are expected to be seated by 9:30 a.m.
He added that the competition proper would take place over two days, on Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25, 2026.
He further revealed that the Founder of Al-Hikmah University, Alhaji Chief (Dr.) Abdulraheem Amao Oladimeji, OFR, will attend the event as the Father of the Day.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, will serve as the Chairman of the occasion.
According to the statement, the Grand Kadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice AbdulLateef Kamaldeen, will grace the event as the Distinguished Guest of Honour, while the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, will host the programme as the Chief Host.
Dr. Arikewuyo explained that the annual inter-university Qur’an memorization competition is designed to promote the study, memorisation and understanding of the Holy Qur’an among youths.
He added that the programme also serves as a platform to recognise and honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the service of the Qur’an and the advancement of Islamic scholarship in Nigeria.
