Ifeniyi Ogungbemi Foundation visited Iwo Isin in the Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, marking a significant return to the roots of its founder, Engr. Dr. Chief Ifeniyi Ogungbemi, an illustrious indigene of the community from the Oke-Ore Compound.
The foundation’s team was warmly received at the palace of the Oniwo of Iwo, His Royal Majesty Architect Joshua Olutade Omoraniawo.
The Royal Father, represented by the Baale of Iwo, Alhaji Yusuf Salahu, offered royal blessings and heartfelt prayers for Engr. Ogungbemi, commending his unwavering dedication to human development, education, and empowerment.
The traditional leader expressed immense pride in the accomplishments of their son and praised the foundation’s consistent efforts to uplift the underprivileged and support grassroots development.
Describing Engr. Ogungbemi as a “shining star” and a “worthy ambassador of Iwo Isin,” the community leader stated: “Today, we celebrate a son who has not forgotten his roots. Engr. Dr. Chief Ifeniyi Ogungbemi has made us proud. He is a gift to this land and a pillar of hope for many. His commitment to supporting widows, orphans, and the less privileged is truly commendable.
“We are proud of what our son is doing. He exemplifies the spirit of giving back. We urge him to continue, and we also encourage him to consider venturing into politics, where his influence could bring even greater development to our people.”
The royal representative also called on other sons and daughters of Iwo Isin to emulate Dr. Ogungbemi’s commitment to service and community upliftment.
Also speaking, the Olomu of Iwo and head of the Oke-Ore Compound, Chief Jimoh Dosunmu, applauded Engr. Dr. Ogungbemi for his selfless dedication to poverty alleviation and the empowerment of indigent citizens.
He remarked that only divine reward could suffice for the noble work the foundation is undertaking.
“We are immensely proud of our son. He is achieving so much for people despite holding no political office. If he chooses to pursue a political mandate, we are confident he will do even more. He has our full support should he decide to contest in future elections,” Chief Dosunmu affirmed.
During the visit, the foundation’s Coordinator, Mr. Wale Esan, reiterated their commitment to supporting widows, vulnerable groups, and addressing the educational needs of children across Kwara State, particularly in Isin Local Government.
He emphasized the foundation’s alignment with the vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON to build a better Kwara.
“Our visit today is symbolic, it rekindles hope and unity in Iwo Isin. It sets the pace for community-driven development and reaffirms the impact a single individual can make when driven by compassion and purpose.
“Before we commence new projects in Isin, it is important to receive royal blessings from our founder’s hometown. It reflects respect for our roots and strengthens our connection to the community,” Mr. Esan noted.
