As part of his unwavering commitment to education and human capital development, Founder of ENACT and Member, Board of Trustees of TETFund representing North Central Nigeria, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, has awarded a ₦1 million prize to two outstanding students for their stellar performance in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

At a brief but impactful event held at Hill City Schools, Ilorin, the students—Gertrude Olawepo Tunmise (Agbonda, Irepodun LGA), who scored 373, and Enoch Adetoluwa Alabi (Erin-Ile, Oyun LGA), who scored 371—were celebrated and presented with their cash awards. Engr. Adeyemi was represented by his aides, Mr. Ayo Rasheed Yusuf and Mr. Kazeem Adeyemi, who conveyed his congratulations and words of encouragement to the students and the school community.

The prize initiative, according to Engr. Adeyemi, is designed to promote academic excellence and inspire more students across Kwara South Senatorial District and the state at large to pursue education with dedication and purpose. “Despite the general low performance in the 2025 UTME, Gertrude and Adetoluwa have demonstrated excellence and resilience. They are a model worth celebrating to encourage other young people in the state,” he noted.

The parents of the awardees expressed profound gratitude. Mr. Olawepo Tunde, father of one of the beneficiaries, lauded Engr. Adeyemi for recognizing and rewarding the students’ hard work.

Also, speaking at the event, Mrs. Oluwagbemisola Hannah Adeniken, Principal of Hill City Schools, expressed the school’s appreciation for the recognition. “We are deeply honored by this gesture. Engr. Adeyemi’s professional accomplishments in engineering, aviation, and finance serve as an inspiring example for our students,” she said.

In attendance was Hon. Ishola, Special Assistant on Digital Innovations to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, who congratulated the students and urged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence. “Success favours the bold and the resilient,” he said, while also reiterating the commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration to education, innovation, and human capital development.

Hon. Ishola further commended Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi for his continued support for youth empowerment and education. “Recognizing and rewarding academic excellence sends a strong message of encouragement and serves as motivation for other students across the state,” he added.
