Last weekend was a day of grandeur, optimism, and high hopes as ESV Alli Kehinde Abdulrasheed, FNIVS, RSV, was officially installed as the 11th Chairman of the Kwara State (Harmony) Branch of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV).
The Investiture Ceremony, held at Fresh Hotels, Fate Road GRA, Ilorin, attracted dignitaries, seasoned professionals, friends, family, and well-wishers from across the nation.
The President and Chairman of the NIESV Council, ESV Victor Alonge, PNIVS, FRICS, FCIoD, delivered an inspiring speech filled with encouragement and wisdom. He described the occasion as “a significant milestone in the journey of the Harmony Branch,” emphasizing the vital role of visionary leadership in driving progress and professional excellence.
“Leadership is the cornerstone of transformation,” Alonge remarked, addressing Abdulrasheed directly. “Your vision and strategic acumen will undoubtedly amplify the impact of this Branch. Embrace innovation, inspire your team, and steer the Harmony Branch to even greater heights.”
The President, who was represented by the Osun State Chairman of the Institute, ESV. Kunle Adedoye FNIVS, also applauded the contributions of past administrations while urging the new leadership to build on the Branch’s rich legacy.
He highlighted Kwara State’s strategic position as a hub for real estate investment and development, calling for stronger collaborations with the state government on policies, land administration, and housing projects.
He further pledged to maintain a harmonious relationship between the Branch and the national leadership.
Earlier, amidst enthusiastic applause, ESV Alli, in his welcome address, expressed profound gratitude to God, his colleagues, and supporters for the overwhelming confidence reposed in him.
“This is a humbling moment for me,” he said. “The journey ahead is challenging, but with your support, we will make it remarkable.”
ESV Alli did not hesitate to share his administration’s early accomplishments. Within just two months of assuming office, his team had recruited 22 new Associate Members and embarked on aggressive advocacy and publicity campaigns to showcase the profession’s relevance.
He also highlighted progress on the Branch Secretariat Project, calling for continued support during the fundraising segment of the programme.
“I promise to remain loyal, committed, and bound by the constitution of NIESV, the Branch Bye-law, and the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”ESV Alli pledged.
In a show of solidarity, elders and seasoned professionals from the institution showered ESV Alli with commendations and advice.
They praised his dedication and work ethic, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the Branch to unprecedented heights. However, they reminded him that humility and teamwork are the keys to great leadership.
Other well-wishers described ESV Alli as “a man of vision,” expressing confidence that under his leadership, the Harmony Branch will not only grow but also set benchmarks for others to follow. They advised him to prioritize members’ welfare and remain focused on the bigger picture.
During the fundraising segment, attendees responded generously to the call for donations, reaffirming their commitment to the Branch’s growth.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among members. ESV Alli’s tenure has officially begun, and expectations are high. The task ahead is daunting, but if the optimism in the room is any indication, the Kwara Harmony Branch is poised for a transformative chapter.
