Fintiri heads PDP National Convention Committee

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State is to chair the People’s Democratic Party National Convention Planning Committee.

The decision was reached on Thursday at the 93rd National Executive Council meeting of the party in Abuja.

According to a statement released by the Governors press secretary Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri is to be assisted by the Governor of Bayelsa State Senator Douye Diri. The Committee has 128 members.

Another Committee set up to ensure zoning of party offices for the Convention is to be chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwaunyi of Enugu State.

The 44 member committee has Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State as the Deputy Chairman.

The Anambra State Governorship campaign committee headed by Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu was also inaugurated during the Executive Council meeting on Thursday.

The meeting deliberated on the way forward for the Party, noting that the myriad challenges facing Nigeria today requires new thinking to surmount them.PDP expressed regret over the failure of APC led Government to address Nigeria’s problems even after riding to power on the mantra of change.The PDP National Convention is to hold in October.
