Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s educational drive again bears fruit as Kwara’s Miss Fatima Azumi Isa tops ICAN Exams in Nigeria with ‘Record-Breaking Results’.
Highlighting Kwara’s academic prowess
and pride for the state and KinNupe (Nupeland), Miss Fatima emerged as the Overall Best Qualifying Candidate in Nigeria at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) November, 2024 Diet Examination.
Miss Isa, a latest graduate of the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State cleared all five papers in one sitting, achieving the highest overall average score among all candidates nationwide.
Her exceptional performance has earned her recognition as a shining star in Nigeria’s professional accounting landscape.
The next ICAN Induction Ceremony will celebrate her unprecedented achievements, where she will receive three prestigious awards, including the ICAN Merit Prize for First Overall Professional Level, SWAN Prize for Best Qualifying Female Candidate in the Diet, Akintola Williams Deloitte and Touche Prize for Best Qualifying Candidate in a Diet.
This outstanding feat reflects the academic excellence facilitated under the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who has prioritised education and youth development in Kwara State.
The Governor’s initiatives have created a conducive environment for students to excel both professionally and academically, earning commendation from various quarters.
Miss Isa, the daughter of Alhaji Abubakar Yaya Isa, FCNA, a retired Deputy Accountant-General of Kwara State and Galadiman Lafiagi Emirate and Hajia Adama Isa, FCTI, graduated from Igbinedion University with First Class Honours in the 2023/2024 academic session.
Fatima Azumi hails from Lafiagi, headquarters of Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State and has been described as an inspiration to her peers.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration continues to empower Kwara youths, enabling them to compete and thrive on national and global stages, as exemplified by Fatima Azumi Isa’s remarkable achievements.
Meanwhile, Fatima’s journey to stardom began with her exceptional performance in the IJMB Advanced Level examinations, where she emerged as one of the top candidates with outstanding scores.
Her brilliance continued to shine during her undergraduate studies at Igbinedion University, Okada, where she consistently excelled as the best student in her department across 200L, 300L, and 400L. She ultimately graduated as the Best Graduating Student in Accounting, earning a First Class Honours degree in the 2023/2024 academic session.
Her intellectual prowess extended beyond the classroom. In 2023/2024, Fatima represented Igbinedion University in the national intellectual competition, the ICAN Accountancy Challenge, competing against universities and polytechnics across Nigeria and securing third place in the qualifiers.
