Information minister speaks on Tinubu’s reforms at Kwara Correspondents’ Week, Wednesday

All is set for the grand finale of the 2025 annual Press Week/45 years anniversary of the inauguration of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Kwara state council of Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ), coming up on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025 in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris (Kakaaki Nupe), is expected to deliver the keynote address on the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda: A Mid-Term Appraisal of the Tinubu’s Reforms, Success and Prospects”.

A statement by the Chairman and Secretary, 2025 Press Week/Anniversary Committee Demola Akinyemi and Umar Abdulwahab, respectively stated that the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and Kwara state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.

The event, which is expected to attract the creme de la creme in the media industry and beyond, according to the statement, will be chaired by the Kwara state commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju.

The statement added that the event will also feature the unveiling of the Chapel’s 45th year anniversary logo and award presentation to two distinguished Kwarans.

The award nominees according to the statement, are the Asiwaju of Oko and founder Thomas Adewumi University Oko-Irese, in Irepodun local government area of the state, Engineer Johnson Adewumi and founder, Gbenga Olawepo foundation, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim.

The statement also stated that the event will hold at Shallom Hall, City of Refuge, 14, station road, via waterview, GRA Ilorin, beginning from 3pm.

It stated further that a special prayer to usher in the week will be held on Tuesday, 12th August by 12noon at the Correspondents’ Chapel secretariat, No 25 Muritala road, and will be followed with an interactive session amongst members, on the topic “Kwara Correspondents’ Chapel Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.
