In preparation for Zimbabwe’s forthcoming general elections, former President Goodluck Jonathan has made his way to the country.

Zimbabweans are gearing up to cast their votes on August 23 to elect new leaders.

Sharing his journey on his verified Facebook page, Jonathan disclosed that he landed in Harare on Saturday, well in advance of the elections.

The ex-President explained that he’s leading a delegation from the Joint African Union (AU) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Mission to Zimbabwe.

Their purpose is to observe the electoral proceedings, and Jonathan expressed his optimism about the meaningful insights this experience will bring.

In appreciation of his warm reception, Jonathan extended his gratitude to the Zimbabwean Government, the AU, and COMESA.

He also acknowledged Ambassador Zachariah Ifu and other officials from the Nigerian High Commission for their hospitality.
