Kwara FOMWAN condemns Eruku attack, sympathizes with victims

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Kwara State chapter, has described the Tuesday attack on CAC Church in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government of the state, as highly condemnable and inhuman act.

FOMWAN said the attack on churches or any other places of worship or individuals is a threat to peaceful co-existence and religious harmony among the people of the state.

In a statement issued by the state Amirah of FOMWAN,said the current wave of insecurity calls for serious concern.

Some non-state actors had on Tuesday evening attacked worshippers leading to the killing of two, while others injured.

The statement described the attack as the most unfortunate, condemnable, worrisome and unpatriotic.

FOMWAN sympathized with the immediate family of the victims, Eruku community, Christian leadership and the state government over the incident.

The statement commended the state and the federal governments for their relentless efforts at addressing the security challenges, stressing the need for hands to be on deck in checking the current wave of insecurity.

The Association called on the security agencies to intensify efforts and mobilise forces for the safe return of all the kidnapped victims.

FOMWAN prayed that Almighty Allah repose the soul of the deads, return the abducted ones safely back to their families.
