The leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, has expressed rude shock over the death of Hajia Adama Jibril, wife of the Editor of The Herald on Sunday, Alhaji Jibril Alfa Issa.
According to a condolence letter signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Union, Abdulateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Deacon Omotayo Ayanda respectively, the State NUJ extolled the virtues of late Hajia Jibril, describing her as a mother per excellence and renowned philanthropist, who contributed her quota to the development of the society.
The Union thanked God for the life of the deceased, noting that she lived a fulfilled life and accomplished all she set out to achieve in her lifetime.
“She was a virtuous and God fearing woman in all her dealings and contributed her quota to the development of the society. Her death has created a big vacuum that would be difficult to fill,” the letter added.
While sympathising with widower and his entire family, the Union prayed to God to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant her family the fortitude to bear the colossal loss.
The deceased died today (Tuesday) and had since been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
Meanwhile, the fidau for Hajia Adama Jibril holds on Thursday at her residence, Osin, Ita Elepa in Ilorin West Local Government Area at 10am.
Aged 50, the deceased is survived by her husband, three children and many grandchildren.
