The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has petitioned the Directorate of State Security Services, demanding the arrest of impostors who had been passing misinformation to the public as to the status of the party and its candidates vis-a-vis the fast approaching Gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly elections.
It would be recalled a fictitious group had been going on various radio stations lying that the party’s Gubernatorial candidate has stepped down and endorsed the incumbent.
Reacting to the insinuation via a petition addressed to the State command of the DSS by the party and signed by its legal Adviser, Barr. Oladimeji Mustapha, stressing that “while the party is neither unperturbed nor distracted with the shenanigans of the sponsored fifth columnists, we’ve deemed it fit to write the petition to set the records straight and disabuse the minds of unsuspecting public.
“For the records, a Federal High Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, has already dismissed a suit instituted by this group calling themselves SDP executives. They have appealed the ruling which is currently being heard at the Appeal Court Division in Ilorin. As such, it is only subjudice for these individuals to lay claim to the party leadership, but an attempt to misinform the electorate and cause chaos.
“In view of the above, we therefore urge your good office to investigate this our claim against the underlisted people claiming to be the State executive leaders of the party in Kwara State” it reads.
