Two Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Lightfield Legal Practitioners and Deteeblazer Foundation will commence scholarship programme for overall best students of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS).
The best female and male graduating students in the School of Law, CAILs, would receive sponsorship for their degree programme in the University.
In an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Ilorin, Barr. Rachel Ayoola, the Founder of Deteeblazer Foundation who spoke on behalf of the sponsors explained that the mission of the NGOs is to reward academic excellence and to promote inclusive education.
According to her, the organisations are proud to offer scholarships to outstanding students from the department of common law and the Department of Shariah and Common Law.
Ayoola noted that the scholarship opportunity would assist beneficiaries to pursue degrees programme at various universities of their choice.
“This initiative is a way of giving back to the institution that helped shape our founder’s journey as an alumni to support brilliant minds as they take their final lap and proceed into University of their choice.
“The development marks another milestone in the growing culture of alumni support and institutional development within Nigeria’s legal education sector.
“At Lightfield Legal Practitioners, we believe that the future also rests on how we support the next generation, especially from institutions like CAILS that quietly shape some of the finest legal minds.” she said.
Ayoola pointed out that the grant will be awarded annually to the best male and female graduates of the School of Law and is expected to inspire other stakeholders, and alumni to emulate the gesture.
In his appreciative remark, the Acting Provost, Dr. Sa’ad Hadi commended the kind gesture received from the two NGOs.
He also appreciated the Deen, School of Law, CAILs, Ustaz Kamaldeen Kamaldeen for facilitating the sponsorship.
