The Kwara State Branch of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) has elected new executive members to steer the affairs of the institution for the next two years.
The elections, held at Sity Inn Hotels, Ilorin, marked the dawn of a new era for the branch, with ESV. Alli Kehinde Abdulrasheed FNIVS emerging as the new Chairman after a resounding victory.
The event, which also served as the Annual General Meeting (AGM), witnessed the formal handover from the Immediate Past Chairman, ESV Oyedepo B. Olalekan FNIVS, to the new leadership.
ESV. Kunle Adedoye FNIVS, Chairman of the Osun State Branch, represented the 2nd Vice President, ESV Emmanuel Nuel Mark, at the occasion, playing a crucial role in overseeing the electoral process.
ESV Emmanuel Mark described the election as “hitch-free and conducted in line with the constitution of the Institution.” He commended the Kwara branch for conducting the election peacefully and urged the new leadership to work collaboratively for the progress of the institution.
He, then, called for the continued support of all members to ensure the success of the branch’s programmes and initiatives understand the new leadership.
The newly elected executive members for the 2024-2026 council year are: ESV. Kehinde Alli FNIVS – Chairman, ESV. Waheed Jimoh ANIVS, RSV – Vice Chairman, ESV. Muhammed Lami Shukurat ANIVS, RSV – Secretary, ESV. Ibrahim Alao Sulyman ANIVS, RSV – Treasurer and ESV. Arashi Adebayo S. ANIVS, RSV – Publicity Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, ESV. Kehinde Alli Abdulrasheed expressed his gratitude to God and the members of the Kwara Branch for their overwhelming support. He pledged to uphold the values and integrity of the institution while unveiling key programs and projects aimed at advancing the branch over the next two years.
ESV Abdulrasheed who emphasized the importance of maintaining the branch’s credibility and integrity, both within the state and national, recognized the need for better public understanding of the estate surveying profession.
The new Chairman announced plans for an intensive advocacy campaign. This includes outreach to secondary schools under the initiative “Operation Catch Them Young” to inspire interest in the profession from a young age.
According to him, one of the administration’s primary goals is the completion of the branch’s Secretariat building, which will serve as a hub for meetings, executive offices, and income-generating rental spaces.
He said that to alleviate financial burdens on members, the branch will seek new revenue streams by organizing special programmes involving high-net-worth individuals, even as he promised to focus on increasing membership by encouraging graduate and probationer members to become associates and motivating associates to achieve fellowship status.
Earlier, the outgoing Chairman, ESV Oyedepo B. Olalekan, delivered a comprehensive report on his tenure, highlighting significant achievements, including a notable increase in corporate membership and substantial progress on the Branch Secretariat Project.
As the Kwara Branch embarks on this new chapter under the leadership of ESV Kehinde Alli Abdulrasheed, the members are optimistic about the future. The newly elected Chairman and his team are committed to building on the successes of their predecessors and leading the branch to greater heights.
The occasion was a testimony to the branch’s commitment to excellence, unity, and progress within the estate surveying profession in Kwara State.
