A new Controller of Corrections has been appointed to lead the Kwara Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS). Controller Famuwagun Oyeniran officially took over the mantle of leadership from the retired Controller of Corrections, Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji, today in Ilorin, the state capital.
Famuwagun, who hails from Ekiti State, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to his redeployment to Kwara State, he served as the Deputy Commandant at the Correctional Academy in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State. He has also previously held the position of Officer in Charge of the Badagry Custodial Centre in Lagos State.
Consequently, Famuwagun expressed his commitment to upholding the mandate of the Nigerian Correctional Service and ensuring the effective management of custodial centers across the state.
The outgoing Controller, Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji, who retired after a distinguished career in the service, was praised for his dedication and leadership during his tenure in the Kwara Command.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Command, SC Adegblugbe Philip Olumide, described Famuwagun as a seasoned professional whose expertise will further enhance the operations of the command. He wished the new Controller a successful tenure in the “State of Harmony.”
Famuwagun’s appointment marks a new chapter for the Kwara Command as it continues to work toward the effective administration of justice and rehabilitation of offenders.
