Zamfara: Bandits invade female hostel, adopt students

by Editor

Bandits have on Sunday broken into a female hostel at the Federal University of Gusau in Zamfara State.

The criminals stormed Sabon Gida village in Bungudu and broke into the university’s rented female hostel, where they locked up two civilian guards and took their cellphones before abducting two female students from the university’s Microbiology Department.

Confirming the incident, SP Muhammad Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, said the police Tactical Team arrived on the scene, but the hoodlums had already fled with the victims to an unknown location.

He stated the Commissioner of Police had further deployed reinforcement to complement the ongoing rescue operation.

“The Commissioner of Police therefore is appealing for continuous support from members of the public to enable the police succeed in the rescue mission,” Shehu said.
