Olododo hands over new station, quarters to Police… Says he has set record to beat, sues for ‘hate-free’ politics

Member representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo has said he has not only broken unprecedented records of performance but also, he has ‘set a record to beat’.

The lawmaker while urging politicians to embrace hate free politics, noted that ‘politics is a game that is not worth dividing us as a people.’

The lawmaker, who doubles as the Chairman, House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development made the call during the official commissioning of a new police station and quarters to house police officers at Ondoko, Okelele area of Ilorin East LG, facilitated by him.

Olododo who noted that he is not a ‘do-or-die’ politician said “Politics or not, let it be re-emphasized that we are all brothers and sisters and it is for our collective good to remain so.

“Without sounding immodest, I can say with all sense of humility that I have not only broken a record of unrivaled performance, I have also set a record to beat as a member of the Federal House of Representatives”, he added.

Hon. Olododo also posited that the project will improve the security and economic growth in the area and therefore urged his constituents to cooperate with the security agents and be law abiding for peaceful coexistence.

Speaking at the official Commissioning of the enormous project, Ibagun Progressive Union Chairman, Alhaji Omomeji, described the project as the first of its Kind in Ibagun ward, stressing that security is paramount in any Community for total development.

While describing the project as an historical leap, he also appreciated Hon Olododo for attending to the community’s need.

For his part, Kwara Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama described the project as a gigantic edifice that can not be quantify.

He who said the purpose of the station is to protect the people and not to harass them, assured that Officers will be deploy immediately to the station after the commissioning.

While receiving keys from Hon Olododo, he appreciated him for his kind gesture to the constituents and assured that the force will make proper and judicious use of the facilities.

In his remark, the Alangua of Ibagun Ward, Alhaji Saka Iyanda appreciated Hon Cook Olododo for his kind gesture and pray to Almighty God to continue to strengthen him in all his endeavours.

The event had the presence of Security personnels, Alanguas, and other community stakeholders.

Olododo rounds off campaign in home country, Ibagun amidst resounding reception

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo has concluded his campaign rallies across the 23wards of the Federal Constituency, amidst resounding reception across board, with assurance of victory from indigents, residents, traditional rulers, stakeholders and community leaders.

In a statement by the Director Media and Publicity of Ganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo Campaign Council (GSCCO), Ibrahim Sheriff, the campaign which kicked off on Sunday 12th February, 2023 at Akanbi wards 1 & 2 of Ilorin South LG, rounded off at Aare ward 1 and Okelele in Ibagun ward, the country home of Kwara SDP Gubernatorial candidate- Alh. Hakeem Lawal and that of Hon. Olododo, respectively, on Tuesday 21st February.

The venue of the final campaign rally in Ibagun was filled to the brim, with thousands of people chanting “Ododo”, attesting to the impactful representation and public service of Hon. Olododo.

In his address, the Governorship candidate of SDP, Lawal said Olododo is a good ambassador of the SDP and his impactful and people oriented representation is a reflection of what the people would enjoy if the party’s candidates are elected, across board. He also thanked the people for giving SDP Olododo, noting that he has done incredibly well.

Olododo in his remarks thanked the people for the overwhelming love and support they have shown him. He noted that “in my public life, I am always guided by the imperative of making my people proud and I am glad I’ve not disappointed you. By the grace of God, we shall succeed and I will never disappoint you.

“They will come to hoodwink you with money and tell lies to you because they have nothing good to offer. Stand firm with your resolve to vote SDP candidates. don’t sell your votes to political scavengers. The election is not just about me, it is about the development of our constituency. Go out early on Saturday with your PVC and cast your vote for me, white horse is our party’s logo. That’s where to vote”, he added.

Before proceeding to the various campaign rallies, Olododo in company of the SDP gubernatorial candidate – Lawal had visited the courts of the Magaji Aare – Alh. Shuaib Subair and Baba Isale of Ilorin – , as well as the Alangua of Ibagun and Baale of Dada for royal blessings and presentation of a compilation of Olododo’s stewardship in political offices, titled ‘So far, So Good’.

The Magaji Aare and Baba Isale in their separate remarks prayed for the success of the SDP, noting that the party’s candidates are known illustrious sons of soil whom they believe would not disappoint them if elected into public offices.

In their separate remarks, the Alangua of Ibagun and Baale Dada, Mallam Sakariyah Iyanda (Ilufemiloye) and Alh. Abdulrahman Ajadi attested to the impactful representation of Olododo, which has fetched the community a police station, roads and water projects, public lavatory among others.

The traditional leaders therefore enjoined the people to show appreciation to Olododo and the SDP in the coming elections, with fervent prayers that the party’s candidates emerge victorious.

Community representative, Alh. Saka Karufi in his submission said “We thank you, Olododo for making us proud and not bringing us shame as a people. We are indeed proud of you.

“You have not abandoned us for once as your own people and we will not abandon you in the coming election. We indulge our people to vote massively for our son who has made us proud on Saturday”, he added.

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has endorsed Hon. Saka Cook Olododo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the upcoming 2023 general elections in Kwara State.

Hon. Olododo who is vying for a seat at the House of Representatives for Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency was adopted by YPP after a series of consultations — finalised this week.

According to the State Chairman, Chief Dele Ogunbayo for the Young Progressives Party, Hon. Olododo was chosen from a poll of other aspirants due to his impeccable track record and alignment with the party’s vision for Kwara State.

“In Hon Olododo, we see a passionate politician, and relentless builder who shares the spirit of our party and is committed as we are, to seeing Kwara transition from a State of immeasurable potential to a prototype of outstanding civilisation.”

Ilorin East/South 2023: SDP shines in major oppositions’ ward… Receive scores of defectors from APC, PDP, NNPP, as Monarchs pray, canvass votes for Olododo

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo’s re-election bid has garnered more endorsement from traditional and community leaders, and residents alike, from his major oppositions’ wards and others across Ilorin East and South local governments.

Olododo’s reelection campaign gained major boost, with the Alangua of Okaka – Alh. Suleiman Baba, homestead of Olododo’s APC contender raining praises on the lawmaker for his sterling performance at the House of Representatives, while also urging the people to vote massively next Saturday, for him to return to the National Assembly.

In his words, the traditional ruler said “You are a benefactor and we benefit from you. You take care of a lot of our people. God has really helped you and I pray he support you to be re-elected. You did unexpected good gestures. You are the reason our community is no longer dark in the night.

“My people, Olododo didn’t ask for a penny from you in return for the good he has done us. All he seeks is your vote, I urge you all in the name of Allah, not to betray him because he didn’t betray you all. The same way he did good to us when we are not there with him, let us also do well for him with our PVC, when he won’t be with but God is there”, he added.

The lawmaker during his visits to the courts of Balogun Gambari and Balogun Fulani of Ilorin, Balogun Afin, Serikin Hausawa, Alanguas of Zango, Kulende, Sobi and Oke Ogun, including Magajis of Alalubosa, Tegbesun and Gaa Osini was also greeted with rain of prayers for the success of Olododo and SDP, with encomiums and commendations for the impacts he has made since his election into the National Assembly.

Balogun Fulani, Alhaji Abubakar Sidiq Atiku Fulani in his statement said “I can vouch for Olododo. His sterling performance isn’t surprising to me and I urge other candidates to emulate him. I pray for his success, because I am confident he will do better.”

Balogun Afin of Ilorin, Alh. Mohammed Yusuf for his own part said “Olododo is a sincere politician who upheld the promise he made to the electorates. Your impact is visible around us and we are grateful for all you do. We pray God make your inroad to reelection easy.”

Forum of Alangua and Magajis, including Hausa community in Balogun Fulani 1 also prayed fervently and endorse Olododo’s second term bid and the SDP.

Oladodo’s campaign train which shutdown Balogun Fulani, the homestead of his PDP contender, witnessed reassuring cheers from hundreds of party faithfuls and admirers of Olododo assuring him of their vote in appreciation of his outstanding performance.

In Gambari ward 2, Zango ward, Akanbi 5 among others, Olododo’s campaign train received scores of defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) into SDP.

The defectors were led by Comr. Ridwan Alangua Yaradua, a former APC member in Zango ward and a former candidate for KWHA under restoration party, who hinged his dumping of the ruling party on failed promises of APC and Hon. Olododo’s impactful representation.

In his remarks at various campaign rallies, which witnessed huge turnout, Olododo said “On Saturday, I urge you all to come out enmass and very early to cast your vote for our party, SDP, which today remains the only credible alternative in Kwara state.

“We’ve no accord with any political party, vote SDP across board on February 25th. Don’t allow those whose party left us in the hardship the country is currently experiencing into power, we have strong-will and we have demonstrated that. Don’t vote people who has nothing to show for their public service.”

The lawmaker who presented his 279pages achievements compilation, titled ‘So far, So Good’ to community stakeholders assured that more dividend of democracy would be enjoy by the people of the Federal Constituency if he is re-elected into office.

Currency scarcity: Olododo suspends campaign, bemoans APC’s insensitivity

The Social Democratic Party candidate for Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo has announced tentative suspension of i his campaigns across the 23 wards of the constituency.

The suspension, according to a statement by the Director Media and Publicity of Ganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo Campaign Council (GSCCO), Ibrahim Sheriff is as a result of the ongoing protests across various areas within Ilorin metropolis, most of which falls within the Federal constituency Olododo represents.

The statement said “We regret to announce the suspension of ward-to-ward campaigns for the SDP candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo.

“The campaign train, billed to hit Oke Oyi/Oke ose, Maya/Ile Apa and Agbeyangi/Gbadamu Osin wards is called off, as a result of the civil unrest caused by the Naira currency scarcity occasioned by the Federal Government’s currency swap policy. Areas affected includes Yakuba and Gambari, in Ilorin East Local Government.

“While we sympathize with Kwarans, particularly residents in Ilorin East and South over the untold hardship meted by the ill-implemented currency swap policy which has further exacerbate the socioeconomic hardship that characterizes the APC government at all levels, we urge our people to resist temptations to take laws into their own hands, but rather leverage on the legitimate opportunity availed them by the February 25th elections to set set Kwara state and Nigeria on the path of sustainable peace and prosperity, by voting our party, SDP.”

“Hon. Olododo has proven to be a man of the masses and at this critical moment of our National existence, we wish to assure the people of Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency that we stand by the people and will continue to advance legislative course that will bring succor to our people and ensure their welfare is guaranteed”, the statement added.

It can be recall that Olododo had challenged the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele over the non availability of new currency in Kwara state, when Emefiele was invited by the House of Representatives.

I have changed narrative in terms of legislation, project facilitation – Olododo… Says Kwara SDP has winning structures

The Member representing Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency in House of Representatives, Hon Ganiyu Saka Cook Olododo has said all the 23 wards within his constituency have enjoyed good representation and responsive project facilitation in the last three years.

Hon Olododo disclosed this on Friday during Media Parley with some journalists in his Constituency Office, Ilorin.

According to him, “All the 23 wards in my constituency have benefited from dividends of democracy due to qualify representation. No ward is left out including those in the rural areas.

His words: “The last three years have been eventful and interesting. I have changed the narrative as a grassroot person and experienced politician. I am living with my people. I achieved everything from Ilorin. From being a local government Chairman to Chief of Staff to Governor and Secretary to the State Government. I understand the people because I am one of them.

“As a lawmaker, I have sponsored bills and motions. The Senate and House of Representatives just passed my bill on the establishment of Federal Medical Center, Fufu in Ilorin South local government area and awaiting Mr. President’s assent. During our campaign in 2019, we visited different communities and their present their requests. People’s requests differ from ward to ward. Some communities need water, electricity, road, schools and others. We are using the template to address challenges in different communities through project facilitation. I installed over 1000 street lights across Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency. Alot of communities are enjoying electricity with transformers we distributed. We are also supporting farmers in the rural areas. We are not leaving anybody behind. Last Saturday, we distributed various work tools to artisans, women and other during 15th empowerment program. I have secured employment for many people in the last three years and even before my sojourn in green chamber”

“In term of legislation, I have also changed the narratives like I do in every position I’ve been privileged to hold. The House of Representatives Committee on National Planning and Economic Development that I chair for instance, has become more relevant than ever before under my watch. A committee that last had annual report during the 7th Assembly now does regular oversight and we publish our reports annually.”

The Lawmaker who is seeking for second term on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) said hundreds of youth also received laptops after intensive ICT training.

Giving reasons for dumping APC for SDP, Olododo said they sidelined him in the scheme of affairs, because he advised against and refused to join the line drawn against those who worked for the emergence of the party in 2019.

“In 2018/2019 during OTOGE revolution, we believe we are going to have inclusive governance. I believe in inclusiveness. We got the change through ballot with support of many people but Kwara State Governor has his own agenda, which we didn’t know ab initio. I advised Governor Abdulrazaq physically and on phone to avoid crisis in the party but some people were fueling it for personal benefits.

“I left APC for SDP after a long wait for possible resolution of differences and due consultation with my constituents. I have experience in Kwara Politics and value people alot. I listened to people’s yearning. SDP has formidable structure to win 2023 general elections in Kwara State.”

Olododo expressed optimism on his chance of winning 2023 election, “My performance and antecedent will speak for me. Yinka Aluko is my junior brother and friend but the people would decide. I will win again on the platform of SDP Insha Allah.”.

The Ilorin born Politician said SDP Governorship Candidate, Hakeem Lawal has better chance of winning Kwara 2023 election as a young, talented and well schooled man and based on his father’s antecedent.

“HAKEEM LAWAL stands a better chance of winning the election than anyone in the opposition. He is intelligent and wise. He is a young man that has native intelligence to develop the state. He will run an inclusive government and that is our approach in SDP. We have formidable structure in the three Senatorial districts and will win. Power of incumbency wouldn’t be a factor in 2023 general elections. Oyetola was defeated in Osun State. We defeated incumbent government in 2019. Many people will abandon the Governor before 2023 general elections.” He explained.
