The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Kwara South Senatorial District, Prof. Wale Sulaiman has said that he would run an issue-based campaign for the 2023 general elections.

Prof. Sulaiman stated this on Tuesday in a press statement personal signed and made available to Daily Links, to appreciate the support he received from all stakeholders during the flag off of his campaign.

According to the press statement, “We sincerely thank and appreciate all Key Stakeholders, Party Faithfuls, Community Leaders, Traditional institution, SDP Candidates in Kwara South Senatorial District, Political Leaders from the 7 LGAs and across the State, and Well Wishers in the Kwara Project 2023 for the convergence of like-minded people in our successful flag off Campaign yesterday in Ajasse-Ipo”.

Prof. Sulaiman also specially appreciated the Press for the coverage and eventual reportage of the epoch making event that serves as signposts to victory in the coming elections.

“The Fourth realm of the estate that the Media is remains our Strategic Partners in our collective effort to gain majority of our citizens as happy people out of poverty and squalor.

“Together we can do more for our people to reinvigorate their hopes for altruistic political leadership that see it as honour and privilege to serve our people.

“We can change the trajectory of Kwara State development. Our narratives can change for a better society. We shall accomplish this successfully by addressing the issues of development in a new leadership vision in the language our people can understand and connect with”, he said.

Prof Sulaiman said further that his emphasis will not be focussed on throwing tantrums or negative campaigning because his people are smart and can discern issues by themselves.

“Our perspective shall be about what we shall do for our people in Kwara South upon gaining their mandates in February 2023 elections. That’s our covenant with the people and so help us God”, he added.
