The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, has denied the alleged suspension of Senior Officer, ACC Ayinde Olatunji Yusuf over the rescue operation of some abducted victims in a recent incident in Ilorin, the state capital.
An online medium had reported that Yusuf was allegedly suspended over viral video clip relating to a recent rescue operation of some abducted victims in Ilorin.
Yusuf led the operatives of the Special Duty Unit of the corps to rescue three persons, including a woman, Mrs Abdullateef, who were abducted in a Keke Napep while heading to Lanre-Gada from the Oja-Oba area in the Ilorin metropolis on November 9, 2022, at about 7 p.m.
Yusuf, however, got into trouble despite the feat following a video clip of the rescue operation, which went viral allegedly without the approval of the state Commandant of the defence corps.
The operatives tracked the kidnappers’ hideout and rescued the three victims, including the woman. However, the culprits escaped, and one unregistered new motorcycle used for their operations was recovered at their den.
An impeccable source from the Command however debunked the alleged Senior Officer’s suspension.
The source who pleaded an anonymity because he was not authorized to speak, described Yusuf’s alleged suspension as untrue and unfounded.
“The report of alleged suspension of Senior Officer over the rescue operation of some abducted victims is baseless and should be discarded into waste bin because there was nothing of such in the Command.
“The Senior Officer who was alleged to have been suspended, was at a function today to represent the Commandant during the commissioning of a Division at Arandun community in Kwara South Senatorial District. He is very diligent officer and I’m very surprise that somebody will sit down at the corridor of his house and fabricated lies against such a committed officer. I want the public to dismiss such report because there was nothing of such”, the source said.
