The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) Kwara Branch has called for stronger partnerships between solar energy providers and estate surveyors.
ESV Bayo Arashi, ANIVS, MCAI, RSV, made this call while representing the branch at a 2-day Solar Energy Product Exhibition held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The exhibition, organized by Foresight Corporate Consult under the leadership of Ayodeji Michael Osodi, centered on the theme “Solar Energy Contribution to Advancing Economic Development.”
Arashi, speaking on behalf of the Branch Chairman, ESV Kehinde Alli FNIVS, emphasized the critical role estate surveyors can play in promoting solar energy adoption within estates and surrounding areas.
He urged solar energy service providers to collaborate with surveyors and their clients to enhance the provision of sustainable lighting solutions.
In his keynote address, Hon. Adebisi Adeniyi, Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperative, Oyo State, lauded the initiative, describing it as a vital step towards achieving energy sustainability and boosting economic growth.
The exhibition featured insightful presentations from leading solar energy companies, including OIC Solar, Refuge Technology, Green Power, NovelSolar, C Divine Answer, and Sofar Solar. Each highlighted the importance of solar energy as a solution for the power challenges across the country.
The event, which attracted participants from professional bodies, government agencies, the NYSC, and educational institutions, also saw the presence of ESV Grace Adedayo, Honorary Secretary of the NIESV Osun State Branch, among other dignitaries.
The 2-day exhibition underscored the growing significance of solar energy in Nigeria’s economic landscape and the potential for collaboration between professionals in the real estate and energy sectors to drive sustainable development.
