UNILORIN VC celebrates appointment of Alumnus, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju as TVC Director of News

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the appointment of a renowned investigative journalist and distinguished alumnus of the Vetter by far University, Mr Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, as the Director of News, Television Continental (TVC).

In a statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the appointment of the veteran journalist as befitting and well-deserving.

Prof. Egbewole added that the appointment reflects Mr Babajide-Otitoju’s years of experience, editorial leadership, and commitment to credible and impactful journalism.

The Vice Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), said that the elevation, no doubt, marked a very significant milestone in Mr Babajide-Otitoju’s distinguished media career.

Prof. Egbewole urged the veteran journalist, who was earlier in the year honoured by the University for his contributions to national development as part of activities marking its Golden Jubilee, to continue to discharge his responsibilities with his chsracteristic courage, finesse, and professionalism.

Mr Babajide-Otitoju, who has over three decades of exciting experience in the media industry, graduated from the University’s Department of History in 1989.

The Vice Chancellor wished Mr Babajide-Otitoju a more successful and rewarding career.
