Abiodun Abdulkareem is a seasoned journalist, information management advocate, trade unionist, and accomplished author, widely respected for his principled leadership, intellectual depth, and lifelong commitment to public service.
He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Daily Links Digital Media, where he provides strategic editorial leadership, upholds the highest standards of journalistic ethics, and guides the platform’s mission to deliver credible, impactful, and community-focused journalism. In this role, he oversees editorial direction, content quality, newsroom governance, and the mentorship of emerging journalists.
Professionally, Abdulkareem is also the Acting Editor of The Herald on Sunday, one of Nigeria’s foremost newspapers, where he continues to shape public discourse through incisive reporting, editorial oversight, and newsroom leadership. His journalism career spans decades of hands-on reporting, editing, newsroom management, and media advocacy.
A committed trade unionist, Abdulkareem has played an important role in strengthening journalists’ welfare and professional standards. He previously served as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), The Herald Chapel, and went on to serve two terms as Chairman of the NUJ, Kwara State Council. His leadership journey at the national level culminated in his appointment as National Financial Secretary of the NUJ, where he contributed to institutional reforms and financial accountability within the union.
