AWARDS: NILDS DG LAUDS NATIONAL HONOURS CONFERRED ON SENATE PRESIDENT, RT. HON SPEAKER … HONOURS WELL DESERVED

The Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS National Assembly, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has hailed the National Honours of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON conferred on the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the NILDS DG.

The same token of Felicitation is cheerfully extended to the Rt.Hon Speaker, House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D for the Conferment of the Natonal award of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, CFR.

Professor Sulaiman said both honours on the two Leaderships of the 10th National Assembly who are the Chairman and the Alternate Chairman of the Governing Council of the NILDS couldn’t have come at a more auspicious time than now when the nation is marking her 64th independence anniversary.

He said the honours did not get to him, Members of the National Assembly and Nigerians as a surprise because they are rewards and recognition deservedly conferred on them by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

While thanking the Commander- in- Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, C-in-C, President Tinubu for recognising and rewarding the patriotic and excellence services of the Leaderships of the 2nd Tier of government, he said the awards will spur the duo to be more proactive in bolstering the Executive- Legislative symbiotic relationships in building a virile nation.

The Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS said that the symbolism of the National Honours conferred on the President of the Senate and the Speaker House of Representatives are hinged on another feathers added to their trajectory of creditable performance which will bolster their confidence in service delivery to the country.

The former minister of the National Planning on behalf of the entire NILDS family extends hearty congratulations to the new award recipients and pledged unwavering loyalty of the Institute to them in the promotion of democratic principles, enhanced Legislative processes and good governance.
