The gubernatorial candidate of Africa Democratic Congress ( ADC ) in Kwara State, Barrister Issa Manzuma has promised to ensure transparency in the administration of the state, if elected as governor in the forthcoming governorship election.
The ADC governorship candidate made the commitment in an interview with Journalists, Monday in Ilorin, the kwara State capital.
Manzuma, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association ( NBA ), Ilorin branch also assured the people of the state that his government will have due respect for the principle of rule of law with the view of ensuring constitutional government.
Manzuma, a respected indigene of Edu Local Government Area of kwara State, observed that democracy and good governance cannot be achieved without adherence to the principle of transparency and rule of law.
The legal practitioner turned politician, said he was determined to bring about the desired positive change that Kwarans have long been yearning for, through the instrumentality of transparency and collective responsibility of all categories of stakeholders in the kwara project.
The gubernatorial candidate said he will create a departure from the ideas of the present crop of leaders who indulge in greed, selfishness and disrespectful to the provision of Nigeria’s constitution, at the detriment of democratic culture and good governance.
He said, if elected to the exalted office of the governor in the forthcoming general election, his government will run on transparency with the view of facilitating the general wellbeing of the people and rapid socio – economic development of the state.
Manzuma therefore, appealed to the good people of the state to cast their votes for ADC to ensure that he becomes the next governor of the state, promising that he will not disappoint Kwarans as he will be dedicated and committed to the wellbeing of the state at all times.
