Kwara State monthly sanitation exercise holds Saturday, 27 Nov

The Kwara State monthly sanitation exercise for the month of November will hold on Saturday 27th, 2021 from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

According to a statement signed the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Mrs Okanlawan Taiwo on behalf of the Commissioner for Environment, members of the public are enjoined to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning their residential and business environments.

“Everybody is expected to stay at home to clean up their surroundings.

“The monitoring agencies will be on ground to monitor compliance and it will be strictly observed across all the 16 Local Government Areas in the State”, the statement said.

According to a release, there will be no vehicular and human movement except those on essential services.

“Violators of Environmental Laws during the sanitation exercise would be tried and sanctioned by Mobile Courts stationed at designated points across the State.

“Waste management trucks will be on the street for waste collection and disposal to the the final dumpsite during the exercise in the Ilorin metropolis”.

The statement also said that the State Director of Environment, Towoju G.O.K. informed all distinguished Sanitarians and indeed all staffers of the Directorate of Environment that the monthly Environmental sanitation of November ending is going to be a full-fledged one with total lockdown of the state from 700-900 hours with ten (10) mobile court points in llorin metropolis.

“I am to enjoin us all to ensure maximum cooperation and strict compliance with and enforcement of the Environmental Sanitation Laws Cap E4 of 2006”, the statement said.
