Nigerian Army holds range classification exercise in Ilorin

The military says that the 22 Armoured Brigade Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Nigerian Airforce 303 Medium Airlift Group will be conducting a one week live firing exercise from Monday till Friday.

In a statement by Major E.J Mailabari for the Assistant Director Army Public Relations and copies made available to newsmen today in Ilorin said that the aim of the exercise is to test and refresh the weapon handling proficiency of troops under command.

The statement which revealed that the live firing exercise will take place at the 22 Armoured Brigade shooting range along Malete road, advised communities around Shao and Malete to keep off the shooting range through out the period as live ammunition will be used during the event.

The army also advised residents and other road users in the area not to panic on hearing the sound of firing during this period.
