NIVC: MSSN, Kwara inaugurates 16-man committee

The leadership of the Muslims Students Society of Nigeria(MSSN), Kwara Area Unit has inaugurated a twenty-six(16) member Local Organizing Committee(LOC) to coordinate and see to the successful hosting of the 79th National Islamic Vacation Course( NIVC) to be hosted by the State.

The NIVC is scheduled to hold between the 22nd – 28th of December, 2022 at two different locations within Ilorin Metropolis, the State capital.

The LOC inauguration, held on Yaomal Khamis, 29th Dhul Hijjah, 1433AH, equivalent to Thursday, 28th July 2022 at the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin, under the supervision of the National Board of Trustees(BoT) member, Professor Badmas ‘Lanre Yusuf, has men and women of high resourcefulness and commitment to the service of Islam and humanity.

In his opening remarks, Professor Badmas, who was also the Chairman of the occasion, acknowledged the praises and adorations of Allah, for making the day a reality, seeking the Peace and blessings of Allah on Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his Household, Companions, and the generality of those who follow the righteous path till the day of resurrection.

The members included: Dr. Abubakar Ayinla as the Chairman, Alhaji Ameen Suleiman, Engr. Imam Yassar Remilekun, Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Prof. Nasir Abdussalam, Prof. Mubarak Saani, Alhaji Usman Abolarin, Mallam Usman Abdulmalik, Mallam Ali Abdulkareem, Alhaji Abubakar Imam Ayinla, Barr. Abdurrazaq Ayub Jabaje, Bro. Idris Olanrewaju, Mrs. R. O Abdullahi, Dr. (Mrs) F. A Sulayman, Alhaja Salamat Jimoh and Prof. Abdullateef Oladimeji as the Secretary.

Welcoming members of the commitment to the epoch-making event, Professor Badmas said that “MSSN is synonymous to all of us being a platform where we were trained. In other to continue to fulfill one of the several aims and the objectives of its establishment, hence there is what is called Islamic Vacation Course IVC”.

“It is a week-long program which usually the month of December of every year. The program attracts students from primary up to university levels. The main activities in the camps among others include lectures, ta’alimat, classroom instructions, Da’awah outreach, interactive fora, skills acquisitions as well as the issuance of communiqué”, he stressed.

According to him, this timeframe is aimed at improving the Muslim skill, creating interaction between Muslims, providing and providing platform wherein Muslim youths will have access to participate in Da’wah activities and receive classroom instructions from different Muslim scholars all over the country.

“The National IVC is to be held in the two zones of the society namely the ‘’A’’ zone and the ‘’B’’ zone. The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, MSSN “A” Zone comprising the 19 Northern States and FCT has decided to stage the 79th National Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) in KWARA, from 22nd – 2nd December 2022 tagged (KWARA ‘’2022’’).

“The total number of expected participants is Four thousand (4000) in this year IVC and the program is aimed at training and inculcating the Islamic values in the Muslim students, which draws its participants from the 19 Northern States and FCT”.

“It is on this note, that we are putting in place this Local Organizing Committee which comprises of the men and women of calibre and calibre who have been carefully selected to serve in different capacities. LOC is always the engine room to serve and coordinate all the sub-committees in the realization of the IVC objectives”.

While welcoming members of the other guests, the Amir of the State MSSN, Bro. Abdurrahman Abdulmumin disclosed that the Area Unit has never hosted a National programme of the sort, said that the event is special because LOC is the brain box, engine room and the nucleus of the National IVC, a programme which is fondly regarded as Muslim Students’ Hajj.

He said that the IVC has earned the name from its nature of enjoying not less than four thousand (4000) participants from the 19 Northern States and FCT with the aim of training and inculcating Islamic values in Muslim students.

“The event is also special because it is indeed a prelude for the birth of several positive developments in the history of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Kwara State Area Unit. This is because the Area Unit has never hosted a National programme of this sort and here it is, unfolding before our very eyes, under the guardianship of our father, a distinguished Member of the National Board of Trustees, MSSN, Prof. Badmas ‘Lanre Yusuf. We pray that Allah lends us His assistance and assist all through”.

“The event is equally special because, as executives of the Area Unit, Area Councils and Branches, past leaders of MSSN in different capacities and are still till the moment, committed to the noble we are seated here with our fathers and mothers who were active and committed members to achieve a common goal–Successful staging of the National IVC and attaining
the pleasure of our Lord”.

“The event is also special because it is serving as a bridge between-losing long lost connections of the constituent members of the big MSSN family”, he added.

While thanking members for responding to the invitation, on behalf of all Executives of the Area Unit down to the Branch, the Amir pledged their unflinching commitment and subservience to the members of the Committee and prayed for Allah’s assistance to completely discharge the duties toward having a successful National IVC.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Abubakar Ayinla, appreciated the submission and for making him the Chairman, stressing that, by the grace of Allah they will put in their best to have successful camping.

Meanwhile, Prof. Badmas earlier disclosed that another committee with major responsibility to mobilize and rally support for the successful hosting of the event will be flagged off by His Royal Highness, Mai-Martabah, Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR this week.
