Old students partner Kwara to revive alma mater, to pay NECO, WAEC fees

The Oyelagbawo Grammar School, Ilala, Old Students Association has pledged to partner Kwara Government in improving their alma mater’s infrastructure and address challenges of the 50-year-old school.

Mr. Nasiru Moronfola, the Chairman of the Association stated this on Friday in Ilorin while addressing newsmen on the commencement of the 50th Golden Jubilee Celebration.

Moronfola stated that their alma mater had produced many professionals who are contributing to the development of Nigeria.

He reminisced when the school was among the foremost citadel of learning in Kwara, adding that the association is committed to reviving the old glory of the school.

According to him, the Old Students will partner the Kwara Government to ensure that aging structures are rebuilt.

He further explained that the alumni will pool in their resources to help indigent students in paying their NECO and WAEC fees.

Also speaking Mr Kola Adeyemo, the Head of Media and Publicity of the Association added the funds raised will be utilised to produce educational facilities .

He listed these to include ICT centres, classrooms and also off-seting teachers salaries on the long run.
