The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA) has attributed its success to the sustainable blueprint created by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, which has strengthened due process and driven development across Kwara.

The New Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Agency was recently named: “Procurement Reform State of the Year 2025”, by the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON).

The honour was conferred during APPON’s 5th Annual Conference held in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Speaking on Wednesday in Ilorin, while presenting the awards to the staff of KW-PPA, Alhaji Raheem Abdulbaki, the General Manager of the KW-PPA commended the governor for his visionary leadership and consistent support to the Agency.

He described the award as “a double feat”, as he was also named “Procurement Reform Compliance Director General of the Year 2025”, and also inducted into the fellowship of APPON.

Similarly, he pointed out that six staff of the Agency were also admitted into APPON’s membership, among 113 inducted nationwide.

“These awards are not just plaques and certificates. They are symbols of our hard work, resilience and unwavering commitment to excellence.

“They reflect the trust and confidence of the state government and the shared vision that guide our milestones,” he said.

Also speaking, the Kwara Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Abdulazeez Abdulganiy, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Afolabi Olaitan, also commended the Agency for aligning procurement processes in the State with global standards.

“Whatever you do, do it with all your capacity. People are watching and the reward will surely come. Let’s all focus on building legacies that make lasting impacts,” he said.
