NUJ Unilorin Chapel to Hold 2-Day Workshop on AI and Journalism

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), University of Ilorin Chapel, has announced plans to host a two-day capacity-building workshop on “Journalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Opportunities.”

The workshop, being organised by the Chapel’s Workshop Planning Committee led by Comrade Abdulwahab Tajudeen Babamale (Chairman) and Comrade Isane Adekunle Lewu (Secretary), in collaboration with the Executives and members of the Chapel, will hold on September 8 and 9, 2025, at the Basement of the University Auditorium, Ilorin, between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm daily.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin will serve as the Chief Host, while the Chairman of the NUJ Unilorin Chapel, Hon. Adewoyin Tijani, will be the Host. The Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, will also play a key role in the programme.

Lectures will be delivered by seasoned media professionals, including Mr. Raheem Adedoyin and Barr. Mahmud Abdulraheem, who will share insights on the intersection of journalism, artificial intelligence, and media ethics.

According to the Workshop Planning Committee, the event is open to all members of the Chapel, stakeholders in the media industry, and the general public.
