Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Wednesday arrived in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, following the takeover of the community by Nigerian military personnel. The deployment comes in response to the attack on the community on Tuesday.

The Governor, who visited the scene in the company of security chiefs and top government officials, addressed church members, assuring them of the combined efforts of his administration and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore peace and stability to the area.

He pledged that every necessary step is being taken to ensure the safety of everyone in the community.

Governor AbdulRazaq also commended the swift response of the military and other security agencies, noting that their presence has boosted confidence among residents and helped prevent further escalation of violence.

He urged community members to remain calm and cooperate fully with security operatives as operations continue.

Meanwhile, the state government has announced that additional intelligence-gathering measures, including collaboration with local vigilante groups and traditional rulers, are already underway to strengthen security across the border communities of Kwara South.

The Governor emphasized that his administration will not relent until criminal elements threatening the peace of the state are completely flushed out.
