Glamour Football Club proved once again that it is more than just a football team as it rolled out the drums to celebrate its 6th anniversary, a lively, colourful, and emotional gathering that brought together players, coaches, fans, friends, and dignitaries in a festival of joy, gratitude, and renewed ambition.
The celebration, held amid cheers and a vibrant atmosphere, reflected the true spirit of the Glamour family, unity, excellence, and plenty of good humour.
In his opening remarks, the President of Glamour FC set an upbeat tone, expressing heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has been part of the club’s remarkable journey.

“What began six years ago as a simple dream has grown into a strong, united family, beaming with pride.
“Glamour FC is not just about football; it’s about passion, discipline, and the joy we share as a community,” he said.
He thanked sponsors, supporters, and volunteers for uplifting the club, adding that the next phase will focus on empowering young talents, expanding competitions, and raising the club’s profile.
“We have come far, but the future holds even greater possibilities for us,” he noted.
If anyone added extra colour to the event, it was the chairman of the occasion, Mr. Tunde Bakare, who captured the audience with humour and sincerity.
He confessed that although he had previously met the group, he never knew the club members were “this happy and full of life.”

“I’m officially requesting that the President adopts me as an associate member, because I also love happy people!” he declared.
He praised the club for sustaining its activities for six solid years, describing the feat as a mark of resilience and vision.
“As an adventurous person myself, I can tell you, if you sustain this spirit, in 10 years Glamour FC will grow beyond your imagination.
“At your seventh anniversary, I won’t come alone. I’ll bring friends who will support and contribute to the greatness of Glamour FC,” Mr. Bakare added.

The Programmes Chairman, Mr. Dele Ojo, took the audience down memory lane with a summary of the club’s projects and humanitarian interventions.
These include: Sponsorship of five UTME candidates, Easter and Ifar programmes, Financial support for indigent community members, Payment for a medical surgery, Purchase of first aid kits, Empowerment and other social welfare initiatives
One of the highlights of the event was a short but insightful lecture delivered by ASCI Peter Sunday John, representing the Kwara State NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed.
He educated members on how social groups can monitor and identify security threats.
From community vigilance, information sharing, trust-building, and early warning signs, to collaborating with security agencies, he emphasized that “security is our shared responsibility.”
His lecture was practical, engaging, and well-received by the audience.
No Glamour FC anniversary is complete without celebration of talent, and this year did not disappoint.

Awards, medals, and trophies were presented to winners and participants of the Glamour FC 2025 Internal Competition, drawing cheers and excitement across the hall.
The moment of the night came when Salahudeen Ibrahim Olawale was crowned Glamour Man of the Year, an honour that sparked thunderous applause and photo flashes.
From heartfelt speeches to humour-filled moments, community impact stories, and exciting awards, the Glamour FC 6th Anniversary was a beautiful reminder that the club stands on the pillars of unity, passion, and service.
As the curtains fell, one message rang loud and clear:
Glamour FC is more than a club, it is a happy, growing, and unstoppable family.
