Ojaja University is on the path of transformation, says Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of Ojaja University, Eiyenkonri, Ilorin, Prof. Jeleel Ojuade has said that the Ojaja University will be witnessing a lot of transformation which will reposition the institution as a citadel of learning.

The vice chancellor stated this in Ilorin while speaking on the sidelines of the 9th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Undergraduate Degree Programme of the University.

He stated that the Chancellor of the institution, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has relinquished large expanse of land in Ile-Ife dedicated to the University.

According to him, the National University Commission (NUC) has approved introduction of some new programmes for the institution.

He added that the management of the institution; the governing council and board of trustee are ensuring that projects are being completed both in Ilorin and Ile-Ife campuses.

Ojuade also pointed out that Ojaja University is targeting world class trainers, adding the institution is introducing teaching online from trainers across the globe including Harvard University.

The vice chancellor reiterated the resolve of the institution to provide security for staff and students of Ojaja, saying that there are internal security outfit, and partnership in place with Nigeria Civil Defense Corps and Nigeria Army.

He however appealed to the Federal Government to ensure maximum security for Universities across the nation, as well as providing the necessary electricity for campuses.

Similarly, Ojuade charged the matriculating students to adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution.

“Ojaja University has zero tolerance for all acts of misconduct. The University will swiftly apply appropriate sanctions against any students found to engage in any act of misconduct with the laid down rules,” he warned.

In his Lecture, Prof. Olugbenga Mokuolu, the Guest Speaker at the programme explained that the students are at a significant point of transition in their lives.

Mokuolu, who teaches at the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin spoke on the theme: “Beyond the Gown, Architecting Your Future on The Platform of University “.

According to him, the students are on the path of meaningful contribution to the society.

He warned them against being misguided in their quest for knowledge, while urging them to imbibe character and learning.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a total of 10 students took their oath at the 9th matriculated ceremony.
